5 Simple Leather Care Tips

1. Daily Care: Gentle Wipe-Down

After use, wipe your bag with a soft, dry microfiber cloth—dust and invisible dirt can dull the surface over time. When storing, place it on a flat shelf rather than hanging by the straps to help preserve its shape.

2. Monthly Refresh for Nappa & Grained

• Empty the bag and gently shake out particles.
• Use a mild, pH-neutral leather cleaner with a slightly damp cloth—never soak.
• Air-dry, then softly buff with a dry cloth.
• Finish with a small amount of leather lotion or cream to restore suppleness.

Tip: Less is more—avoid over-conditioning.

3. Suede (Most Delicate): Brush & Protect

• Use a soft suede brush to remove dust and revive the nap—avoid pressing the fibers down.
• Apply a protective suede spray before first wear and every few months.
• If suede gets wet, air-dry away from heat, then brush gently once dry.
• For stubborn stains, consult a professional leather cleaner.

4. Smart Storage: Shape, Air & Shade

• Lightly stuff with clean tissue or cotton to retain shape.
• Store in a breathable cotton dust bag (not plastic).
• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
• Avoid stacking heavy items on top to prevent deformation.

5. Out-and-About: Prevent Common Damage

• Watch for color transfer from dark denim or rough fabrics—especially on light leathers.
• Avoid contact with creams, perfumes, and sanitizers; wipe spills immediately.
• Minor scuffs on nappa/grained: a tiny amount of matching balm can help. For suede: brush only (no moisture).

Our family

As you probably know, our brand has been around since 2015. We started out small and have grown steadily since. Thanks to you, ann kurz has developed from a side project to something very special. We can no longer imagine a life without our creations and are incredibly grateful to you for your support.

We not only have a great family at the factory that makes your bags. We also have great friends, local suppliers around our factory. They are the people who provide us with everything we need for our variety of leather bags.

The cowhide - which is tanned in an environmentally conscious way and which we are constantly developing to further reduce the impact on nature. This results for example in accessoires like the Mika Vegetable Tanned Leather Wallet, and many more.

The inner lining - on the one hand made of 48% recycled cotton and 20% recycled polyester (e.g. for our Nandi shoulder bag) or the beautiful beige inner lining made of ecotextile (e.g. for our Nuria suede shopper bag) which is very resistant, anti-bacterial and eco-friendly which fulfills the REACH standard.
